QuickStart — Yeastar

FirstNet is a supported SIP provider on Yeastar. On P‑Series/S‑Series you can select FirstNet from the ITSP/Service Provider list. If your system doesn’t show it, use the manual trunk settings below.

Using the Service Provider Template (Recommended)

  1. On Yeastar: VoIP TrunksAddService Provider.
  2. Select FirstNet from the provider list.
  3. Enter the credentials we email you (Trunk Username / Authentication Name / Password).
  4. Save & Apply. The trunk status should turn Registered.
  5. Routing: create an Outbound Route (choose this trunk) and an Inbound Route (map DID to a destination).

Manual Trunk (If FirstNet isn’t listed)

  • SIP Server (Registrar)sip.firstnet.co.za
  • Port5060 (UDP/TCP)
  • Outbound Proxysip.firstnet.co.za:5060
  • TransportUDP (or TCP if preferred)
  • Trunk UsernameAs provided
  • Authentication NameAs provided
  • PasswordAs provided
  • CodecsG.711a/u, G.729; enable Opus if supported
  • DTMFRFC2833
  • NAT Keep-AliveEnabled (20–30s)

If behind a strict firewall, allow outbound to the SIP server/port above and the RTP media range specified in your provisioning email.

PBX Interop Notes

  • FreePBX: Add Trunk → SIP settings → host=sip.firstnet.co.za, type=peer, fromdomain=sip.firstnet.co.za.
  • Microsoft Teams (Direct Routing): Use your SBC; point to FirstNet as the external trunk.
